April Potter knew she was unique at a very early age and she was quite ok with that. Some would say a dreamer…a creative…her perspective and the way she looked at the world was unconventional and interesting: always choosing the positive and possibilities instead of seeing the challenges. She was a true entrepreneur at heart from a very young age.
Growing up in rural North Alabama with a close-knit family that still is very close to this day, something about the Potter name and heritage passed down in music spoke to April as a young child and she knew she would end up in the music/entertainment industry. She began piano lessons at age 8 and frequently sang with her sister and dad at church and area revivals around the area. She dreamed of playing the piano in a gospel group all of her life but when time came for college her aspirations and dreams changed from performing to a behind-the-scenes role.
She was the first intern for the newly formed record company Chapel Music (later renamed SpringHill Music) owned by Bill Gaither, popular writer and producer of The Gaither Homecoming Video Series. She interned in A&R (Artist and Repertoire) and Marketing which would be her area of choice. After graduation, she was offered several positions but ended up taking a position as road nanny and office assistant for gospel/bluegrass/country artist Jeff and Sheri Easter. Even though April loved the road life, she was eager to put her new music business degree to full use in Nashville…the place she always dreamed of living.
At the time, Ed Harper of the Harper Agency was looking for a new, young, female booking agent to train and April was recommended and got the job. April never intended to stay in booking/touring but it was an open door at the time so she walked through it and met a lot of people both on the road and in town. She was there 6 years before leaving to form her own booking agency, April Potter Agency, in 2002. After adopting her daughter from Guatemala, April returned to the Harper Agency from 2010-2012 and worked as a freelance agent, consultant and other various roles before reforming April Potter Agency in 2016.
Located in Nashville, Tennessee, April Potter Agency represents a broad array of talent that has performed at arenas, stadiums, auditoriums, churches, fairs, festivals, schools, casinos, city events, corporate events, coffee-houses, conferences, theme parks, cruise ships and other venues. April has worked with artists in many genres including Rock, Country, Christian, Gospel, Bluegrass, most recently making a name in the tribute band world working with some of the most well-known artists in the world.
Since May of 2016, and the relaunch of April Potter Agency, April has continued to expand the agency from tour scheduling to artist management. She later added event planning, social media, marketing, branding and promoting and changed the name to April Potter Entertainment. The company is quickly becoming one of the most sought out companies in the industry focusing heavily on repeat business and expanding relationships with buyers/clients.
One of the highlights of her career came in 2020 when she wrote the original story and coordinated the publicity of her father, Terrell Potter’s, kidney transplant journey which ended up going viral world-wide and made headlines in every major news and print network in 27+ countries. The story was unique in the fact that Potter, a retired police officer, was given a kidney from a girl whom he had arrested years earlier. The story was originally picked up by Rick Karle of channel 13 news in Birmingham, AL and went on to air on World News, NBC Nightly News, Fox News, Guideposts, Woman’s World, New York Post, Vanderbilt University Medical Center Voice, People, Police1, NDTV, Tamron Hall Show, iHeartRadio, India Times, The Logical Indian, The Today Show, GOD TV, OnStar, Daily Star, Police Magazine, Opera News Africa, The Western Journal, Dr. Oz Show and numerous others.

April brings a unique perspective to the table with her love for people and networking and connecting with others. Most would say she is loving, innovative, creative, resourceful, insightful and a big dreamer. She has both sides of the brain, to not only creatively dream the dream and cast the vision but to also put the steps in place to achieve anything set before her.
